CHEF JP ANGLO

Chef JP Anglo, a Filipino chef born and raised in Bacolod City, a food haven in the Western part of the Philippines, has been in the culinary scene for years now. His restaurant in Manila called Sarsa has been open for nearly a decade now and was one of the first to champion contemporary Filipino food in the country. Two years ago, he opened his latest Filipino restaurant, Kooya Filipino Eatery in Dubai in the UAE where he hopes to introduce the cuisine to a broader audience and to push “Filipino Food Forward”.

Chef JP’s mission is to “reintroduce” Filipino food to the world. While most see Filipino food as exotic and unfamiliar, it is his dream to get the Filipino food to be known as a global cuisine enjoyed by all nationalities, not just the Filipinos. “Our food is amazing, and the world needs to taste it” -- a line Chef JP would always say. And what better place to start this than Dubai, a city that’s a melting pot of so many cultures and nationalities, a place where people have an open mind and a passion for good food.

Chef JP makes sure that he works hand in hand with the brands and companies that become his partners in order to come up with strong ideas to market their products better. These partnerships are carefully thought through and ones that align with his personal vision and mission, values, principles and ideals.

Some of Chef JP's most notable collaborations include restaurant names such as Soy Pinoy with Top Chef runner up Chef Paul Qui and James Beard Awardee Chef Tom Cunanan in Houston, Texas; Candlenut by Chef Malcolm Lee, the world's first Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant in Singapore; Meat Smith, a smoke house under the Burnt Ends group of Restaurants; The World Street Food Congress in the Philippines, brought by Singaporean Street Food Guru, KF Seetoh; Reyna, a modern Filipino restaurant in Paris by Chef Erica Parades; Tradisyon by Chef Anton Dayrit in the heart of Manhattan, New York; Sal, a Mexican restaurant by Chef Nico Mejia located in Colima, Mexico; and up and coming this year, Chef JP will be doing another round of collaborations in different countries around the world.

Though earlier on in his career, Chef JP has been known to undertake roles of a TV Chef such as being the judge for Junior Masterchef, Philippines and having a travel cooking show on CNN Philippines called Hungry with Chef JP, his name is most linked to his restaurant in the Philippines called Sarsa and quite recently, also with his new restaurant here in Dubai called Kooya Filipino Eatery. His following on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok have already been growing and he has been working on a lot of collaborations to make content with brands such as The Dubai Municipality and Lulu Supermarket. In the Philippines, he’s had collaborations with the Department of Tourism to promote local tourism, Philippine Airlines to curate their in-flight meals for business and economy class, food brands such as Spam®️, Purefoods, Jollibee, Knorr, Mega Sardines and Tuna, Lemondou, just to name a few. Car brands such as Ford, Lexus and Maserati; lifestyle brands such as Columbia Sports Wear, Snow Peak, Uniqlo, Hugo Boss, Samsonite, Panasonic, AXA Life Insurance; and kitchen brands such as Viking Range and Inax

Chef JP is not your typical influencer. He goes above and beyond to come up with the best marketing strategy for your product and brand. The company behind Chef JP Anglo come together to brainstorm, collaborate and come up with ideas on how to achieve the goal set for the brand. Our promise is to help the company translate its investment to numbers through efficient, progressive and truthful marketing.

Chef JP is first and foremost a Chef, driven to bring Filipino food to the global stage. But all of that began when he took up culinary in the Center for Culinary Arts in Manila, Philippines and later on in the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney, Australia. He eventually opened numerous restaurants in the Philippines and in Dubai. Chef JP represented the Philippines in the world-renowned food congress, the San Sebastián Gastronomika in 2019. Today, he spends most of his time in Dubai where he runs and operates Kooya Filipino Eatery located in Dubai Marina.
